Kyle Chandler to Star in New FX Cop Drama?

Friday Night Lights star Kyle Chandler — who turned down a slew of offers for broadcast pilots this season — is now being courted for FX’s drama pilot Powers.

Based on the graphic novel series by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming, the project is a police procedural set in a world where superpowers are relatively common. It  centers on two detectives, Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, in a homicide department that specializes in cases involving “powers.”

Friday Night Lights‘ Connie Britton has snagged the female lead in American Horror Story, FX’s much-buzzed-about drama pilot from Glee bosses Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk.

Zach Gilford Cast as Male Lead in Pilot

Off the Map co-star Zach Gilford has been cast as the male lead in the Fox single-camera pilot Iceland. The project centers on Mackenzie Kerry Bische, a 20something woman whose fiance recently passed away. Gilford, from WME and D/F Management, will play a guy friend of Mackenzie described as “bad influence.” For Gilford, the casting is in second position to Off the Map. He is the third cast member from the midseason drama to book a pilot this season along with Martin Henderson and Rachelle Lefevre, both cast in NBCs Reconstruction.

D.W. Moffett’s Switched At Birth To Premiere in June

Tune in to the ABC Family Channel on June 6, 2011 at 9/8c to watch the new one-hour drama “Switched at Birth.” The show is about two teen girls who find out they were switched when they were babies at the hospital. The families of both girls end up meeting each other and have to learn to live together.
