GRIDIRON HEROES FOUNDATION TO HOST RED CARPET DEBUT OF FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS SEASON FIVE PREMIERE

SAN ANTONIO (March 2, 2011) – Friday Night Lights will shine once more for San Antonio football fans. Gridiron Heroes Spinal Cord Injury Foundation announced that it will host the Season Five Premiere of critically-acclaimed, Emmy Award-winning Friday Night Lights on Friday, April 22, 2011. The event will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the JW Marriott-San Antonio Hill Country Resort (23808 Resort Pkwy., 78261).
The screening is exclusive to the city of San Antonio. Former Texas Tech University football coach Spike Dykes will emcee the event. A V.I.P. cocktail reception and auction, presented by Red and Charline McCombs, will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., prior to the screening. Red McCombs will serve as the Honorary Chairman for the second consecutive year. The first two episodes of season five will be shown from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Cast members of the show scheduled to attend will be announced in advance of the screening.
“The cast members of Friday Night Lights have been extremely supportive of the work that we do at Gridiron Heroes,” said co-founder Eddie Canales. “We will have a fantastic group of actors, actresses and Gridiron Heroes in attendance this year and will have some very special surprises, as well.”
Tickets for the V.I.P. cocktail reception and premiere screening are now on sale at the non-profit organization’s website at www.GridironHeroes.org. Individual and corporate sponsorships are also available on the site. Proceeds from the event will benefit Gridiron Heroes.
