Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, two Emmys.

Best actress in a drama nomineeConnie Britton told The Hollywood Reporter on the Emmy red carpet Sunday that the idea to put together a cast reunion came from the top.
“[Producers] Sarah Aubrey, Pete Berg and I were talking about doing a party and getting everybody together,” Britton said. “Then Kyle Chandlercalled me one day from Austin and says, ‘We gotta get all these people who aren’t going to be able to come to the Emmys together and stay out drinking all night and celebrate it.’

Matt Lauria’s Chicago Code Not Renewed By Fox
Posted by Kaitlin with 1 Comment
It’s been a very busy night for FOX, which, according to various published reports, has already ordered several new shows for its fall schedule, including the JJ Abrams-produced “Alcatraz,” the “Bones” spin-off “The Finder” and the Zooey Deschanel sitcom “The New Girl,” while also deciding that “Human Target” and “Breaking In.” Given all the action, and given that “The Chicago Code” was on the renewal bubble right along with “Human Target” and several other series, I thought I’d check in with that show’s creator, Shawn Ryan, to see what he was hearing.
Ryan told me he had just heard from FOX entertainment president Kevin Reilly, who told him the show was also canceled. (As in it won’t be on next year’s schedule; the final episodes will air.)

TV Guide Chats with Matt Lauria About FNL and Chicago Code
Posted by Kaitlin with No Comments
On Mondays, Matt Lauria plays a 29-year-old homicide cop, and on Fridays, he’s a 17-year-old high school football player. The “somewhere in between” actor tells us what’s up on his new show The Chicago Code and what to expect on the fifth and final season of Friday Night Lights, which returns later this week.
TV Guide Magazine: Your Code character, Caleb Evers, is paired with the squad’s toughest detective. Will he get squashed?
Lauria: No. He has a lot of confidence in his abilities. He sees working with Wysocki as a great opportunity. They’ll gain each other’s respect as the season goes on.TV Guide Magazine: Is being an FBI agent really Evers’ ultimate goal?
Lauria: He’s a cerebral college kid who aspires to be a G-man. But now he has to decide whether to pursue that or do what it takes to be a great homicide detective.

Starpulse Chats with Matt Lauria about FNL and Chicago Code

The Chicago Codereturns with the first of six all-new episodes to finish out its critically acclaimed first season. To mark the occasion, Lauria and I sat down to discuss his role as Chicago rookie detective Caleb Evers, the NBC premiere of his previous series Friday Night Lights, and what it’s like working with some true heavyweights to make one of the best shows on television.
You’re in a unique position: you’re not in production while your show is airing. Is it different to have done all the work already and just watch the whole thing unfold?
It’s really interesting. A really cool benefit of that is that I have a heightened appreciation of the show. When you’re so close to it, you can’t see the forest for the trees. There’s always more to catch. When I watch it again, I’m like, “Oh, yeah. I didn’t see that the first time.”
