Vince: I want to talk about how the Lions are going to win State.
Reporter: Is that a promise?
Vince: It’s a fact.
Julie: My Dad must’ve flipped when you asked him.
Matt: What do you mean?
Julie: When you asked his permission.
Matt: What? I thought that was an old wives’ tale.
Landry: Don’t mention that you work in an art gallery – it’s not real assuring to a football coach.
Landry: You know what the crazy thing is? A few years ago you and I were figuring out how to talk to Julie. Now you’re gonna marry her! So this is a little roadblock.
Tim (to Stevie): Boosters: they could be your worst enemy or your best friend.
Tim: You getting yourself another ring this year, aren’t you?
Coach Taylor: Got a damn good chance.
Coach Taylor: Matt Saracen asked for your daughter’s hand in marriage today.
Tami: Julie?
Coach Taylor: No, Gracie!
Coach Taylor: Marriage requires maturity. Marriage requires two people that will listen, really listen to each other. Marriage most of all requires compromise.
Tami: It’s my turn babe. I have loved you and you have loved me and we have compromised, both of us, for your job, and now it’s time to talk about doing that for my job because otherwise what am I going to tell our daughter.
Becky: I’m finally over my crush. So what do you say, friends?
Tim: I’d say family.
Tim: I have dreams too. I’m going to build a house exactly where we’re sitting and I’ll get a job. And I’m never going to do anything illegal for the rest of my life. Guarantee it. Maybe one day our dreams can merge together.
Coach Taylor (hands Vince’s dad the ticket to State): A young man gets a chance at that maybe once in a lifetime.
Julie: You guys think I’m gonna drop out of college or something and that’s not me. This is about me getting to marry my best friend, and you can trust me.
Tami: We do trust you and we want you to be happy.
Tyra: I can’t do this again with you. I’ve got plans.
Tim: I don’t.
Jess: I’m moving to Dallas after this semester so I won’t be joining your super team after all. Being a part of the Lions has been the greatest experience of my life.
Coach Taylor: I think it’s been mine too.
Coach Taylor (to Tami): I turned the contract down. Will you take me to Philadelphia with you, please?
Coach Taylor: You may never know how proud I am of you.
Vince: You changed my life, Coach.
Coach Taylor: Dear Heavenly Father, keep us and protect us tonight. Please let us use the talents you have given us to the best of our ability as a family. As one.
Coach Taylor: We’ve got a long way to go, gentlemen. A long way to go. And you know what? I’m looking forward to it.
Coach Taylor: Clear eyes, full hearts…….well, we’ll work on the rest later.
