Ausiello Reports on Timeline of FNL Series Finale

Posted by Kaitlin with No Comments

Question: Does the Friday Night Lights finale contain a flash-forward element? —Jesse
Ausiello:
Lordy, you people are relentless. Can’t you let a man grieve? Yes, there’s a montage-y leap forward — less than a year, more than a month — at the end of Wednesday’s super-sized swan song on DirecTV. Prepare yourselves, because it packs an emotional punch the likes of which I have not experienced, well, ever. The final scene in particular just destroyed me. I’m so not ready to let go of these characters. Speaking of The End, I’ll be posting a post mortem with exec producer Jason Katims immediately following the finale. If you’re not a complete basket case — heck, even if you are — I strongly recommend you drop by and give it a read.

E! Spills on This Week’s Episode of Friday Night Lights (5.11)

Posted by Kaitlin with No Comments

Emily in California: Geez, Friday Night Lights almost killed me last week. And Tim Riggins is back home! It’s only going to get better, right?
Friday Night Lights doesn’t know any other way. It is lovely to see Taylor Kitsch back, but Tim returning to Becky’s life kind of mucks up her relationship with Luke. Especially due to the fact that Riggins has a huge ol’ chip on his shoulder. Can you blame him? And seeing his former teammate Brian “Smash” Williams (season three throwback!) playing college ball on TV doesn’t help lift his spirits. It’s not the best of times for Tim, but at least it leads to incredible scenes featuring Mr. Kitsch. Get ready for a blowout between Tim and his brother that will give you goosebumps.

Olivia in Alabama: Eric and Tami Taylor are my favorite married couple on TV. Probably ever. Any fun tidbits to share about them?
If you’re a Connie Britton and Kyle Chandler fan (and who isn’t?) you’ll love the scene in the car as Eric drives Tami to the airport. So she can fly to Pennsylvania. To interview for a job. During the semi-finals. But Coach has got bigger problems than marital spats—and that’s budget cuts. And it’s a big problem. Like, there might not be an East Dillon football team next year kind of problem.

Annie: You know what Friday Night Lights needs more of? Taylor Kitsch.
Could not agree more. That’s why I’m so happy to let you know that next episode is full o’ Kitsch! Tim Riggins to the rescue when Becky (Madison Burge) finds herself in yet another troubling situation. And when we say rescue, we mean standing there looking oh-so-gorgeous. What more do you want?

Posted by Kaitlin with 9 Comments

Question: Friday Night Lights? I can’t believe the end is near. —Jeff
Ausiello:
End? Who says it’s ending? (Mmmm…. Denial.) Before the last touchdown is scored, one character will enlist, another will get engaged, and *** *e*** **** *e**** ***.

WWK Spoiler

Andy via Twitter: Friday Night Lights please!

OK, you know how when you watched Julie Aimee Teegarden get herself into a straight-up sticky situation involving her T.A. you thought to yourself, “OMG, this will not end well!?” You were right. Derek will continue to make things complicated for poor ol Jules, especially when he stops by the Taylor household. Daddy Eric Kyle Chandler isnt exactly toting a shotgun, but he is armed and ready to rumble. P.S. Dont you dare blink during the final moments of the episode!

Trisha: Whats up with my favorite TV QB: Vince on Friday Night Lights?

Ill tell you one thing: Im surprised Vince Michael B. Jordan can still fit his helmet on that swelled up-head of his. The dudes ego is freakin out of control, and you can bet that the rest of the Lions arent taking too kindly to his new superstar image. Its like Smash 2.0 for all you veteran FNL watchers, except Tim Riggins isnt here to knock some sense into Vince. And things get extra ugly after the QB comes back from an “unofficial” college visit.

DO NOT READ BELOW IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO HEAR ABOUT THE SEASON 5 FINALE. NBC VIEWERS: THIS MEANS YOU!

Spoiler alert! After an emotional five-season run,Friday Night Lights will go dark next year (DirecTV’s 101 Network airs the series finale February 9; NBC will replay the season, likely this summer). But before the last football is tossed, much-missed Matt Saracen (Zach Gilford), Tyra Colette (Adrianne Palicki), Jason Street (Scott Porter) and Landry Clarke (Jesse Plemons) return to Dillon, Texas. Also back: sprung-from-the-slammer Tim Riggins (Taylor Kitsch, who will appear in the last five episodes).

“I come to visit Riggins,” reveals Adrianne, who’ll be in the final two episodes. “You won’t recognize Tyra. She has dark hair and isn’t as scantily clothed.” Riggins takes Tyra out to the property where he plans to build his dream home. But will they end up living there together? “You’re going to have to watch,” teases Adrianne. “Tim was her first kiss, so I would love that!”
